Monongah Coal Camp


This coal camp in located in Marion county West Virginia. The Monongha’s population is around 1,044 people as of 2010. This coal camp is located along the West Fork River. This coal camp lies in the Fairmont coalfield. The most important date for this coal mine would be the explosion on December 6, 1907. This was the worst mine disaster in history, and three hundred and sixty two men and young boys died in this explosion
