Atmospheric Summary.

Water vapor and most other atmospheric gases are only thirty kilometers above the earths surface. Clouds are not a gas the are condensed vapor. The ozone is the primary ingredient of smog. Human and natural activities displace tiny soil, salt, and ash particles. Clouds are defined by shape and size. Winds are horizontal  waves not vertical.  Humidity is the amount of water vapor in the air. The airs ability to hold water depends on the airs temperature.

Group Procedure

1.       Get into a group of three

2.       Make sure you have all of your materials, (clinometers, and tree book)

3.       Measure off a 100 meter transect

4.       Pick about 3 trees in the transect

5.       Measure the top angle and the bottom angle using your clinometer, record calculations

6.       Figure out what type of tree it is by looking at the leave and looking it up in the book

7.       Calculate the dimensions of the tree, and figure how many board net feet can be made out of the tree.

8.       Make a graph showing the different tree values from all classes.

9.       Use ArcGis to measure the whole HHS forest, and see how much the HHS forest is worth.

10.   Make a power point to share information with the class

An aerosol is a substance like dirt or dust and other particulates. Aerosols in the atmosphere are a mixture of different things (solid + liquid). The aerosols in the atmosphere effect climate change because the particles can either absorb heat or reflect it. Some aerosols like dust and dirt can actually hurt some life on earth because it gets into people lungs and cause them to get sick. Other aersosols like sea salt are good for health.

Surface ozone is natural ozone that is created where sunlight or chemicals break apart oxygen. Ozone can block violent rays that can cause skin cancer and other harmful skin conditions. The ozone is harmful to humans because it can inflame our lings and greaten our risk for asthma and other breathing complications. The surface ozone is naturally formed by chemicals. The ozone can affect humans health by causing chest pains; coughing; irritated throat; congestion; and it can worsen asthma and other breathing problems. Most cleaning supplies that have chemicals give off VOC’s which are volatile organic compounds, which can harm the earth’s ozone.  Oxides of nitrogen are a compound of oxygen and nitrogen. Ozone is good on earth because it blocks out a lot of violent light beams that can harm the earth or humans on earth.

Three things that went good

·       One thing that went good was that our whole group worked together to get things done.

·       The second thing that went good was that we didn’t argue or complain.

·       The last thing that went good was that we finished on time.

Three things that should be fixed

·       I didn't like how only one person did almost everything.

·       I didn't like how when I tried to help someone I was told to leave them alone.

·       The last thing is when some people in the group don’t want to commit to the group.

Using the Scientific Method

  Scientific Method Buying a Homecoming Dress

Step 1-problem/question - Chosing the type of dress to buy.
Step 2-observation/research-Search for the dress.
Step 3-formulate hypothesis-Get a few dresses that I like, and keep them in mind.
Step 4-experiment-Try on dresses.
Step 5-collect and analyze results-Chose a dress and buy accesories
Step 6-conclusion-Finish getting everything, and make sure you have everything you need.
Step 7-communicate the results- Go to Homecoming and show it off.

Show Choir

This year my show choir got a new teacher, It upset some people.. It didn't bother me, but that's because I don't get mad easily. The new teacher was in the marines for a while and she taught at Cabell Midland (which is our rival school), Beverly Hills, and Huntington Middle School. She can e strict some times, but she cool for the most part. We should have a good year this year.. that is if everybody doesn't have an attitude, and if they are dedicated.
